Most wellbeing tools ask employees to feed a dashboard. Ciaera starts with the person, and the HR signal is a byproduct of that.

Encryption
All sensitive data is encrypted at rest with AES-256. Each person's entries and chats are shown only in their own app.
k-anonymity
HR sees data only when at least five people have responded. Below five, the dashboard shows nothing.
Individual data
Stays in the employee's own view. HR dashboards only show group totals, without timestamps that could be used to guess who wrote what.

Where data lives, and who answers for it

Residency
Stored in the EU. Processors outside it, like Anthropic generating the AI replies, work under EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Employees export or erase their data themselves, in the app, right away. Company-level deletion goes through us and takes at most 30 days.
Accountability
GDPR compliant. The data controller is MPF App Oy in Helsinki, Finland.

Read the security overview. Every sub-processor is named in our privacy policy, along with how long we keep each kind of data. Our Data Protection Terms are available on request, and technical detail is available to your IT, security or works-council expert under a confidentiality agreement.

Nick Meiforth is Ciaera's Co-Founder and CTO. He trained as an IT-Systemelektroniker at the Städtische Berufsschule für Informationstechnik München, the three-year German apprenticeship that splits the week between a classroom and a real job, and he has been building software ever since.

He came to Ciaera through Pia and the idea behind it. Workplace mental health struck him as a real problem rather than a pitch, and he wanted to build something that actually helped with it, so he took on the technical side of the company.

There was an earlier version of the product when he arrived, and he started it over. The apps, the HR dashboard, the admin tools and the backend are all his work, and so is the security. He put the encryption, the five-person floor and the delete button that really deletes into the system itself, rather than into a policy document.
